Hi All
Was the Fincastle Trophy staged in Cocos Islands about 66/67. I was there as part of an exercise recovery with 215 Squadron Argosies.
Cheers

It would be unusual to have a ‘Fincastle’ on the Cocos, it was usually hosted on one of the host countries (Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) airfields. Also that would be quite an early ‘Fincastle’ which was derived from the ‘Aird-Whyte’ trophy. The RAF won it in ’66 and RAAF in ’67.
Any idea of the sqns / aircraft involved? I can go through some Shackleton Sqn histories.
Many multi nation Maritime excercises were staged in that part of the world including ‘Sea Imp’.
