Well Finnair have announced they’re lloking to replace their MD-11s. They were one of the only airlines to actively increase their fleets (as opposed to those who got rid of them and cancelled orders following performance not meeting promises and expectations).
They reckon they need a new fleet by 2010.
Never managed to fly on the type myself, but I think they are also graceful!

Yes, Sandy.
Presumably that’s why Air France operate so many Boeings……

they must order airbus, or Jacques Chiraq will not be pleased.
He’s on the war path right now.

Think your right Shamrock, I would too expect an Airbus order.

They will most likly order Airbus. I dont think the 757 flies in their main line operations just charters flights I think.

Hmmm – interesting one, that.
The fact that they operate the A319/320/321 would seem to favour an Airbus product, but they also operate the B757 so the B787 is probably in the frame also.
Watch them go and order Tu204s and IL96s……….. 😉

I flew on the MD-11, excellent flight only 2.5 hours. I had an emergency exit seat, loads of room and the flight was about 20% full.
It was from SIN to BKK
