Firefox

I have been thinking of trying out firefox as alternative to my usual IE 6.I know some forum members use it,are there any disadvantages to it and can you revert to IE if you get a problem.

Thanks baz

I’ve been using Firefox for almost a year now, and am a complete convert. I have found that it loads faster than IE and Navigator, has superior handling of viruses, etc., updates are ‘automatic’ and the browser is generally simpler and more enjoyable to use.
Of course switching to Gmail helps even more.

I use it. It’s no better or worse than IE in my opinion!

Baz

There are no disadvantages to firefox over IE6/7, I made the change 2 years ago and haven’t looked back, I haven’t had any problems with spyware or viruses since swapping over as most are made to “infiltrate” MS products, you can use both at the same time if you wish.
The only thing I will say about firefox is that for the first day you’ll think it’s too much to get used to, but stay with it, after a week you will not look back, and basically it is exactly the same as IE in most respects.
Also check out the “Tools” & “options” menu, there are lots of good things in there for you to tinker with to customize it.

Let me know if you need any help

Been using it as default browser for some time with no problems and can revert to IE any time the notion takes me.
