This is the first A340 to be scrapped which is now in Arizona, 9Y-JIL, ex D-AEIL, G-VSKY.:(

WOW this is the A340 that had that good landing on firework night in 1997:D Shame its getting scrapped:( RIP:D .

Airfleets.net says G-VSKY and F-WWJH as previous registrations. D-AEIL would imply use with Lufthansa, but I think it isn’t a former Lufthansa machine.

The plane is owned by Lufthansa Technik. It was supposed to go to Air Comet but maybe LT decided it wasn’t worth keeping in service. Apparently the plane landed at Goodyear with only one winglet. It will be parted out.

That’s the one that came into Prestwick for BWIA’s short lived service. I doubt this is being scrapped probably just been dropped by the airline following restructuring and rebranding…?
