You’ll never know how much me & my family have contributed to VTS ????? How many E mails , letters & even phone calls , wishing for more cash I have had from said charity . I am now retired with a slight medical incapacity ,a disabled wife & a limited fixed income . ( My Mrs even sent them a cheque out of housekeeping ) BUT !! No more even the VTS membership has been cancelled .I have the greatest pride in that Bomber & its crews for the defence of the realm , Cold war, red Flag . Falklands , Goose Bay etc etc . I did what I could …but I have prioreties . !!

The prog was about ” Black Buck ” not a free advert for Vulcan to the sky !!
Autostick, perhaps you wish to contribute some bags of lucre to this fantastic memorial (XH558)to keep it flying. If not:):):)
For me any free advertising is extremely welcome. A fitting tribute.
By the way, yes I was deployed at that time, but with the Hercs.:diablo:

It was mentioned extensively on the Radio 2 news at 6 and 7a.m. this morning just about to the minute when the BBC World Service broadcast it originally. Not sure as I was working but I think a bit of an interview with Martin Withers was included.

Very good item on the anniversary and excellent stills of the Vulcans and Victors too. A bit disappointing, however, that mention was not made by the BBC of the background to XH558’s first flight of 2012 as most viewers would assume that the aircraft is “officially” preserved and operated.
