First combat victory using AI in July 1940.

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone could tell me the serial number/aircraft code for the Blenheim of the FIU that claimed the first victory using AI in July 1940.
I know that they were based at Tangmere when the action took place.
I would like to get a painting done and would like it to be accurate.
Many thanks
Gerry

Cheers Martin,
I will contact the poster and see if they are still willing to share a copy of the combat report.
Many thanks once again.

It seems to have been discussed here and that a copy of the combat report may be available.

Thanks very much for that info.
I wonder if a combat report still exists at the PRO?

Gerry

The aircraft was a Mk.1-F L6836 belonging to a special Fighter Interception Unit ( FIU ) based initially at Tangmere then moved to Ford for operational reasons.
On the night of the 22/23 July 1940 L6836 flown by F/O G Ashfield , His radar operator was Sgt R. Leyland, along with Observer P/O gG Morris and WOp/Ag were credited with the destruction of a Dornier Do 17z using the AI radar.
(Probally the Mk. 3 version.)

I do not have the marking and colour information for this unit but I`m sur someone will be able to shed some light on that.
