This photo was just released of another( or the same?) A345 for EK. The quote say the aircraft was painted at Paris, Orly. Why was the aircraft painted at Orly intstead of Airbus’ facilities at Toulouse?
Thanks for any help- Matt

routes
they propably ordered the 345 for very long range (otherwise they could have used 777’s). Maybe they can fly to LA (is there any traffic on this route, does it have the range) or maybe Sydney?
Sorry if this question is already responded but i didnt want to read whole of the topic

Come on the 346 is sheer beauty!

Pembo330, the A345 is a stretch of the A343, it has the same wingspan as the A346 but is only 222ft 6in( 67.8m) long. (fyi, the A343 measures in at 208ft 10in(63.60m)
Hope this helps- ACA345

Looks like its taking a sunday drive through the country, good looking plane!

The A345 is an ultra long haul, both A345 and A346 have been clasified as that, but the A345 has a longer range than the A346, due to its lightweight, length and passenger capacity!!!
By: Pembo330 - 25th September 2003 at 12:41
In terms of length, is the A345 the same size as the A343?
The A346 is an very long A343, which in turn is a stretched A342.
I always thought the A345 was a ultra long-haul A346, but clearly its shorter than a A346.
Can it be distinguished externally from the A343?

Emirates placed a massive $12 billion order with Airbus for 41 aircraft at the Paris Air Show on 16 June 2003. The order marked the single largest order in civil aviation history and included two A340-500s, 18 A340-600s and 21 A380s. In addition, Emirates will lease two A340-600s and two A380s from ILFC.
Adding to six previously ordered A340-500s and 22 A380s – including two A380 Freighters – the new order makes Emirates the largest customer for the A340-500/600, and puts it even further ahead on the A380.
Deliveries of the newly ordered A340-500s begin at the end of 2004, those of the A340-600s in June 2007, followed by the A380s in spring 2009. The A340-500s and –600s will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 500s while the A380 engines have yet to be announced.
The A340-500s will be used to initially to open new non-stop routes from Dubai to Australia and the U.S. East Coast. They will be replaced gradually on these routes by the A340-600s, while the A340-500s are then used to open even longer routes. The A380s will be used on Emirates’ busiest routes to Europe and Asia until eventually most of its network is served by this new flagship-aircraft.
This was off the Airbus website: not only are they coming to Australia they are also going to USA east coast!!!
