Sorry Kukri, it worked fine on my system. Then again, I am running 32 bit colour and a very high end graphic card. Another option is to resample with Paint Shop Pro.

No worries Alan, wasn’t directed at you (although Mr Gates, if you are reading this, please feel free to take umbrage)…..it was just me being greedy and wanting that stunning pic in 1024 x 768.
I eventually relented and went with Von Perthes’ suggestion – I kept it as 600 x 800 and stuck it in the centre.
It really is a beautiful pic tho – likely to stay on my desktop for a long time.

One more from Jodie.

I assume you mean just setting the pic to wallpaper and letting my firendly neighbourhood XP take care of the rest? Cos that’s what I did and the image quality suffered a bit – especially round the edges of the spit
Same here, had to settle for having it ‘Centred’, which still leaves the image quite big.

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow ……
Well I know what picture nearly all of us have as wallpaper as of today!!
Fantastic shots!! Any more would be greatly appreciated. Any chance these might get posted on Airliners.net? I’m sure they’ll accept them, and they can be posted larger there.
Charles
p.s. did I mention they are great pictures?!

They’re alright I suppose. And I’m not jealous either – wouldn’t want a flight in a stupid old Lancaster anyway 😉 (Takes ball home and sulks….)

having my cake..and eating it too
Wow- cool pics – comliments to the photographer. Is there any way to get a 1024×768 version of the first pic for my wallpaper? I tried converting from the 800 x 600 pic but XP made a dog’s breakfast of it….surprise, surprise.

Just found these! Simply stunning photos, just a shame the Hurricane couldn’t have beenin the first pic! Still going on my desktop at work though. BTW, is that Rutland Water in the first pic?

Stunningly beautiful photos.
Where is that golden sand beach and emerald green sea? Surely that cannot be England, can it? 😉
I love the first one of the lone Spitfire in the sunset, very, very moving.

Totally stunning. Please pass my compliments onto both the photographers and never let Jodie on board an aircraft again without a camera.
Any more (please pretty please)
