Hi all.
Myself and Mrs AiB just arrived home from Old Warden and it was a as usual a wonderful day.
Thanks to all the staff and volunteers from the chief pilot down to the lowliest cleaner.
A good day was had by all and I think for numbers this was the biggest outing of forum members ever.
Cheers
Andy
PS I didn’t bother with pictures as There were more Canon DSLR’s around me than are in the factory.

Love that Martlet pic. One of my fave machines of the Shuttleworth Collection! 🙂

Cheers for that Rob, nearest i’m ever going to get to a flight with the Boxkite 🙂 The ground was very wet after a torrential thunderstorm at three in the morning and it was one of the best displays i’ve seen. Lots of cheering from the crowd during the barnstorming and if the weather was kind why am I a nice shade of pink? 😀

It was a really enjoyable day, but why two events on the same day?? I lost at least 30 mins queueing to get in which was easy once past the classic cars entrance.
Excellent flying even if the range of aircraft wasn’t as extensive as hoped for. Really enjoed seeing the Avro Triplane and the Boxkite

Nice Rob.

Great day – traffic out was suprisingly swift considering the double-whammy of events this weekend.

Mike
A tad churlish methinks
Compared to what they thought they would have been available to fly a couple of weeks ago I would be thankful that the show had as much as it did. The runway has come on leaps and bounds in a couple of weeks. My guess is that when the programme was produced (before training week) the line up was a best guess. I dont think they did too badly considering.
The Lysander had a sticking throttle on the morning test flight, the Glad has had engine maladies all winter and isnt quite ready yet.
A cracking show with great company (well Mrs Fence thought so anyway).
Jones, a dangerous thing happened, she wants to go back!!!!!

It’s great to get back to sunshine, planes and good company. Well two out of three ain’t bad.
Thanks to Mr Hairyplane for letting us clean his a/c. It makes it all feel more worthwhile.
Another good day out at OW. Here’s tot he next one.

The commentary for the Barnstorming section was very good though, much better than the rest. Ought to sack the Tiger Moth pilot though. Can’t he do Limbo? 😀 😀 😀 😎

Yes, a good day out with excellent company.
If any of you reading this haven’t been to Old Warden, come along to the next airshow and make yourself known
