First results from new camera-Very Pleasing!

My new camera arrived this morning, and so straight away I jumped on my bike for STN. I was expecting it to be better than my previosu one, but not this good! And I say that without sounding big headed-I really was shocked by how some of these came out!

Wasn’t a brilliant day for photography, with the sun in and out and rains howers every half hour. Some photos I was on ISO 64, others ISO 200. However, I suppose it’s all good practice for me on my first time!

Wasn’t much of interest in at Stansted unfortunately, and so instead I just used it to try out some angles that had never been possible before. Hope you enjoy them, please feel free to comment on any brushing up tips etc!(From Skymonster aswell….I was thinking of maybe uploading a few to airliners?)

First just some bog-standard stuff:

And the price? 😀

Thanks for the comments everyone, I shall be up there again today trying it out! Look out for results later.

Now the price is the unbelievable bit. I paid under £200 after searching around a bit on the net. There was a news article on a Digital Photography website about the newly released camera, and it was supposedly a more advanced update on the Z1. I looked up photos from the Z1 on airliners/net and was quite happy with what I saw, so took the gamble and went for this one! Very pleased that I did now, the results were much better than i was ever dreaming of. Suppose a lot of it comes down to the photographer too :p

Ahah thank you very much everyone, been waiting for results like this for a long time! 😀 The question that nearly everyone’s asked, the camera. It is the newly released Minolta Z10, only around a month old. I was taking a fairly big gamble in buying it, because it was new there were no other shots on the net taken with it. However I was (am) very impressed with it’s technical spec, and it’s DSLR like features, so went for it!

And the price? 😀

I agree that STN does not have character, like old airports such as LHR and LGW. Nonetheless, I find travelling through STN to be a nicer experience than through LHR or LGW. Only disadvantage is that it is quite far away from London.

I didnt mean that it was hot, just resembled a greenhouse from the outside! I just dont like modern buildings like this, with no charcater I prefered Stansted when It was a load of huts and served by AirUK, a quality independant!

I dont like Stansted though, its the design, its like a giant greenhouse. I am not a fan of modern architecture or Ryanair for that matter.

Last time I was there I felt quite cool, didn’t appear hot to me?! And witout being biased because I live here, it’s one fo the nicest terminals I’ve travelled through (especially by UK standards!).

I am no photograher but they look good to me, far better than I could do! I dont like Stansted though, its the design, its like a giant greenhouse. I am not a fan of modern architecture or Ryanair for that matter. Stanstead has too many low fares carriers and is too reliant upon them. Quality is better than quantity STN.

Great pictures! What airline operates the 737 with white over gray livery? With the gold line it looks like a Continental livery minus the globe on the tail.

What kind of camera did you get?

As Ren said, they are ex-Continental birds. They were bought by Buzz just before the Ryanair take over, and never got painted into the full Buzz livery (unlike BZZE and BZZF). They have been in this hybrid ever since…..here’s another one. This one has most of the CO scheme still….just lacking the globe and titles.

Great shots!

At the risk of asking the obvious, what camera are you now using?

Some superb shots from you new camera Dan. Very nice indeed – it picks the detail out very well. Check the dirt on that Buzz 737 underneath! 😮

Good zoom work Wannabe!

It was Continental WD, then Buzz got it just as Ryanair were buying them. Since then it’s never had a proper paint job other that Ryanair titles applied.

Yet again, absolutely fantastic. Those close up shots are really awesome, and that VS A346 is also great.

Cant wait to see more from you over the coming weeks/months 🙂
