What do you folks think? Will that work out?
Back in the 1970’s NY Airways had over 400.000 travellers per year between Downtown Manhattan and the airports.
8 pax per helicopter 12 times a day five times a week.
At 159.- USD per flight.
Operating between 3 and 8 S-76.
I’m curious how they’ll do…

I thought I read an article in Air and Space mag a little while ago that detailed the up’s and downs of helio service from downtown New York to JFK? I *think* there was a crash with loss of life. There was also something mentioned about one aircraft putting down in the Hudson and able to float until help arrived.

Extra bag storage? I don’t know what a standard S76 has for storage but perhaps they are expecting high bag counts especially for the JFK traffic since most are international pax.

Seems odd they’ve reduced the pax capacity from 12 to 8 seats for such a short journey ? Is that a manufacturer spec change or is it the operator?
Good luck to them though, seems a good idea. I can still remember the LHR-LGW helicopter shuttle run by B-Cal Helicopters with their Sikorsky S-61’s.

Awesome. It would be really nice from JFK as it’s a real pain to get from JFK into the city.
