first solo!!!

Hello everyone,

On friday I done my first solo circuit! I done about 5 with my instructor, then he said “Ive seen enough”, got out and told me to give it a try.

So I do all the pre-take off checks, power checks, etc, get some clearence, and off I go, hurtling down the runway.

When I rotated I looked to my right, and no one was there. I knew it was all up to me!

Everything went very smooth, and the landing was the best I had done all day. I think it was due to the amount of concentration I was putting into it! I checked everything about 5 times on the downwind leg, and in a warrior that takes about 1 min!

It was great fun, and later on in the day I went to do some more, I got about three in before the turbulence got the better of my nervs!

Great stuff, and something I will never forget!

I went solo in a PA28-161, very nice plane, but with only one person in it I got 1300ft/min climb out! It was so quick! I was doing near on 100kts downwind!

Great feeling, cant wait to get onto Nav now. Currently learning for my Met, which is good stuff.

Flying is far too much fun, and I think it should be a class ‘A’ drug!

thanks again

Nah, you don’t really want it to be a class A drug , the government would ban it then and you’d have to break the law to indulge

Hi Loz,

Congratulations!

If you want to send me the details I’ll make sure your achievemnt is listed in Today’s Pilot’s monthly ‘First Solo’ column.

All I need from you is the name of the flying school and the date you went solo. Oh yes, and an address to where we can send your certificate!

You can e-mail me at stephen.bridgewater@keypublishing.com if you like.

Best Wishes

Steve

Congradulations lozhowlett! The first big accomplishment with many more to follow.

What kind of airplane did you solo in?
