First supersonic jet aircraft?

Hi all,
Just a quick question, what was the first supersonic jet aircraft?
Initally I thought it was the DH108, but while surfing the net I came across a website stating that it was a U.S. aircraft named Starstreak (or something similar). Anyone have any answers???
