Does anyone know what aircraft type(s) this flare chute assembly was used on? The owner has been told it was used on an Avro type. As far as I can tell, it was not used on the Lincoln Mk.30 (and therefore the B.2?).
Could it have been used on the Anson? Some version of the Lancaster?
Or is Avro a red herring?!
I’m assuming that the subject ref number I’ve used is the correct one for the unit as a whole.
Cheers.

And of course Woodford became BAE Systems!

Hi all. I have just let the owner know that the flare chutes assembly is from Shackleton. He was trying to interest local parties in it, but now that he knows what it is from, he has asked me to say it is for sale. Located in Sydney.
Cheers

Completely separate to the above discussion – I have a blanking plate that is inspectors stamped as R3 which means it was made by AVRO – but the pennant on it says Victor.
Looking into the Victor tanker conversions and the demise of Handley Page – the conversion were transferred to Hawker Siddeley at Woodford – which is the old Avro factory hence Handley Page item with Avro stamps.

Thanks Rich. Unique to Shack? Any other types? I will check with the owner if he got it locally here in Australia, but then of course things wander all over the place!

Shackleton. One for photoflashes mounted in the roof and four for flares firing out the side of the rear fuselage.
