A bit more experimenting with the on-camera flash. The flash compensation was on -2, lowest setting, and I had a piece of tissue (actually a Costa napkin) over the flash and held in place with an elastic band just to diffuse the light a bit more. Must remember to up the flash compensation on the low level shots the next time.

I was sitting outside having a Cappuccino and a couple of Bourbon biscuits as I had intended to catch the two-twenty bus back into Cambridge. I spied Terence pulling the Beaver from ARCo, having had an engine run earlier on, along the jet pan. Musical aeroplanes I hoped. I hoped right. The aircraft were parked in the shade of 2 hangar and without the flash I had to up the ISO to get any decent images. I dropped the ISO down to 200 and turned on the flash. Much better pictures.

Spot the flash.

The Hellcat has had its cowlings off since October 2009…

So is the Hellcat having work done to it then or is it that just the cowls and bodywork have been removed?

I really like No.2 and No.3, the shots from ground level. Would like to try something like that next time I am at Duxford but afraid the old knees would not like it.
Thanks for sharing.

Excellent. Looking at the pictures, you can’t see that a flash has been used. That’s the way it should be.
