Hello all,
I’m new to this forum. I have a very keen interest in all types of aviation. As a result, my lovely wife purchased a flight for me in a two seat spitfire for a ‘significant’ birthday of mine. Unfortunately, I am unable to fly for the foreseeable future so I’m offering my flight to a like minded individual at a discounted rate. The flight could be from Goodwood, Lee-on-the-Solent, Exeter or Leeds.
Please let me know if interested and I’ll let you have more details.

Geoff, unless they have a licence, then I think the Gambling Commission would take an interest in such activity. Always best for a business to stay out of areas that are non of its concern.
Wasn’t there someone on the site a while back attracting free advertising for his business selling lottery tickets for several ventures to do with flights and track days? ISTR reading in the press that an operation of that type had fallen foul of the Law and been shutdown.

Hi All,
You would have thought certain aviation magazines or a certain forum may have been interested in purchasing this most opportune investment ? Either to donate takings to a good cause or donate the flight to a veteran or simply just raffle it off at say £20 a ticket you’ll still sell all the tickets you’ll only need 115 to sell or 230 tickets at £10 (Two pints)
I mean there must be enough forumites who would jump at the chance for £20 a ticket even more so at £10 surely ?
Geoff.

This flight in a two seat Spitfire is now available for £2300. Normal price £2975. It’s with Spitfires.com and can be taken from a number of different locations either this year or next.

This flight is still available if anyone is interested.

The flight is already paid for at the full price of £2975 so it shouldn’t be any skin of their nose. I am offering a £500 discount.

PS
I agree, Greg is pretty much part of the BHHH/FAS outfit at Biggin, but then he does advertise and promote the other outfits to an extent, so I’m sure a deal could be done behind the scenes so to speak.
I guess it will now be a case of ‘Watch this space’!
Cheers
Paul

Not sure if that would work.
The guy who runs that page as his personal ‘blog’ is pretty chummy with at least one of the Spitfire rides outfits, who might get a bit sniffy about somebody advertising a flight at less than the ‘market rate’.
If you just named a price, at an attractive discount over the usual £2,750, say £2,500 you might get a bite.

Switch1,
If you are on Facebook, it might be worth trying your luck with the Two Seat Spitfire Page : –
The Two-Seat Spitfire Page | Facebook
Probably the best chance of selling it to someone on there I would think!
Cheers

Hi All,
I’m really surprised that no one seems to be interested in the discounted Spitfire flight I have for sale? I thought this forum would be the perfect demographic. Am I missing something? Any advice or recommendations as to where I might find a buyer gratefully received.

Hi All,
This flight is still available if anyone is interested in a discounted Spitfire flight.

Thanks @dhfan for this information. I’ve heard nothing from @tonyadams as yet. I’ll give him another 24 hours before editing my post. In the meantime, I’ll be running a classified ad in ‘Aeroplane’ early May.

Since the forum revamp, new members need several hundred posts before PMs are enabled.
I suggest that once you’ve made contact, you edit your post to remove your email address.

Hi Tony, It’s still available. I’m not sure of the forum rules but I think I’m allowed to add my personal e-mail address as there doesn’t seem to be a feature for sending private messages.

Fair comment but this is completely legitimate. No money will pass hand until the buyer is given all the details including speaking to the company providing the flight.

Not meaning to cast nasturtiums, but maybe proceed with caution with a pop-up poster, who will presumably be wanting at least a couple of thousand ££ transferred to them before long.
Not saying he isn’t legit, but… you know.

Ahhhh ok , i hope it all works out for the both of you 🙂

Yes, but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do it. I’d rather re-book when I can. In the meantime I’d like to give someone else a chance.
