Just spent an enjoyable fortnight in South Africa with a friend flying about in his Cessna 177RG, however the undoubted highlight was a 40 minute flip in this Jet Provost from Cape Town International we both had a flip in it for a mere 2000 Rand each , the strikemaster nearby was on offer down from 8000 to 7900 Rand so the JP was an absolute bargain ,we both had plenty of stick time you certainly have to muscle it to get in steep turns.
We also went to thunder city , they have a sign offering guided tours but wouldn’t let us in and apparently now guided tours are off, a major dissapointment and not a good way to attract passing trade.
These three pics were taken as we conducted a “low level runway inspection” at Stellenbosch airfield.
