Just shifted to Melbourne…… heres the flight report:
1:
Airline: Singapore Airlines
FLight no.: SQ 407
Sector: Delhi-Singapore
Duration: 4 hours 35 minutes
aircraft: B777-300
A good departure time from Delhi….8:45 pm. The flight actualy usually departs at 00:00 but in winters due to intense fog at Delhi the airline shifts its time down by a couple of hours. The flight took off 20 minutes late. The economy class of the B777 is absolutely great…good legspace, and good space all around. They charge more but offer good. The flight took the usual route to S.E.Asia…. Delhi-touching Calcutta-Over Bay Of Bengal-Touching Yangoon and KL and finaly reaching SIN. The inflight service was great as usual. Good food, refreshing staff and probably the best inflight entertainment system avialable. Although its amusing to still play those old Nintendo games…oh well you cant expect a PS2 now can you. Would be great though.:D. The flight was as smooth as they come….cant remember any bad patch on the way. I cant sleep on flights so was just like an own in the night…everybody sleeping around me and i playing Mario Bros. Our flight had an unusual arrival time at SIN at 4:25 am……. the airport had hardly any people in it. Everything was closed and to make it worst i had a 6 hour waiting for my MEL connection. I spent 3 out of my 6 hours at the Sunflower Gardens at the Changi roof. Very refreshing place… great spot for spotting. Not great for photography though…those glass pains are a obstruction. Saw the A345 Leadership standing idle too. After sitting there for 2 hours it was too hot to sit any longer. So went inside and by that time a couple of things were open. But anyway the SQ 217 was a great flight as i always expect from SQ…. moneys-worth quality.

Airline: Singapore Airlines
Flight no.: SQ 217
Sector: SIN-MEL
Duration: 7 hours 20 minutes
Aircraft: B777-300
I reached my boarding gate E12 half an hour early. But most of the pasengers at that time over there were of VS flight to LHR. After killing of 6 hours by doing nothing it wasent hard to kill another 1. But again the boarding started late, i think SQ doesent mind if the aircraft does not leave at the scheduled time… which is highly careless. Finaly they started the boarding at least 20 minutes later than they should have. But this time i was in Raffles Class so i diont think i should compltain much. But i could not take the fun of Business Class as for once i actualy slept on the flight. After we taxied out of the gate there was more delay as a passenger hadent checked in. So they had to remove of his luggage…so we stood another atleast 30 annoying minutes before taxying towards the runway and taking off into cloudy-bumpy sky. But after a few minutes it got ok and i slept off for around 4 hours. After that i refreshing wash and had an unexpected conversation with the girl sitting next to me who turned out to be heading for the same Uni to which i have come. She was coming from Sweden on an exchange programme. We were served lunch and for the first time i did the blunder of not ordering my Hindu meal. So i managed with fish which i didnt like at all..probably not my taste. But i was not the only person compltaining. Some other passengers also didnt like the food. Plus the amount of food these people serve in Raffles Class made me feel if they though i hadent eaten since i was born. Oh well….. with a heft bill for the seat i guess they try to do there best. Now this flight was turbulent after we entered Australia from Wester Territory over a place called Marble Bar and it stayed that way till we landed. It even hampered the service as the crew also sat down due to turbulance. We landed at Mel at around 8:25 pm. Came out and headed for immigration. The security measures at the Mel airport are really high as we had to get our luggage screened once more after clearing immigration. I was totally exhausted after that 21 hour travel time….although 6 hours were at Changi which leaves 15 hours flying time….not bad.

It’s overkill in some cases, Kabir. It happens to me almost every time I go down there. On 2 occassions I’ve had cases where the officer was very rude to me. I’m sure people can say the same about immigration officers in the U.S., I don’t. At any rate, customs/immigration is very very strict in Australia. Maybe that’s a good thing.
I guess its fine yes…they are doing it for our and theres security only.

Nice report! You were saying about the photography being bad in Singapore, although the spotting is good…….is there chance to get good clear views of the planes for some photos from the gates? Or is there anywhere else to get photos from, as I am travelling through there in May and would like to make the most of it. Thanks
Ummm you might be able to get some decent snaps if u have a camera with a good zoom lense. Otherwise i didnt find any good spot for photography. But spotting from the terrace is good.
