[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-01-03 AT 06:57 PM (GMT)]Tried to post on of these on Saturday but couldnt figureout the keyboard in germany. Here goes:
Airline: Germanwings
Flt No: 4U314 Day: 10/1/03 Reg: Lost the bloody piece of paper !!!
London Stansted – Cologne Bonn Type: A319 Time: 08:00
Check in at 06:00 after spending 1 hour being driven to gloious depressing stansted after driving past LHR after 10 minutes of leaving home. Check in was a breeze, as I only had a suitcase wheel thing as my bro also did. Was checked in 10 and 11 which meant first seat selection. Flight was on time and on a nice aircraft even though it did look like it had being banged around a bit. In was shocked to be offered a compliementry drink as it was a low cost airline or so I thought. Landing in Cologne was okay I suppose and arrivals was quick and easy.
Flt No: 4U311 Day: 12/1/03 Reg: Lost the bloody piece of paper !!!
Cologne Bonn – London Stansted Type: A319 Time: 14:40
Check in at 13:45 after realising I wasnt on the evening flight (whoops) was check in 123 and 124 and I thought this flight was gonna be real bad. But cause both wrists are in plaster they let us board with the first group which meant we got decent seats (I must remember that) Flight left 10 minutes late but still landed on time. Got the free drink again on the way back which I think for a low cost airline is a real nice touch. Arriving at Stnsted was easy except once we were back on the road as it took 2 hours to get back.
Overall, This airline is one of the best low cost airlines I have ever being on and even when you do check in its not rude staff that greet you. I am gonna have to be honest with you I am gonna have to give them 10/10 as they do like after passengers and dont bump them offf like easyJet and that joke of an airline Ryanair.
My next flight report not due till feb gatwick-lyons and then april heathrow-dubai-perth

RE: Flight Reports 4U314 & 4U319
Can’t you take some clandestine passengers on such flights 😉
BTW, Eurowings aren’t the only ones in the low cost area to serve drinks inflight. I had a flight CGN – Berlin Tegel and back with Deutsche BA, and on both I was served a drink, and a chocolate.
Cabin crew is very friendly (even if the steward was, or drunk, or crazy 😉 ) and boarding crew also. Also 10/10 for them

No I’m just picking up the aircraft that’s currently at NCL and bringing it to LGW empty. It’s probably due some routine maintenance. Positioning flights can be great fun as you can really wang it round without passengers on board. A full power take off in an empty 757-200 can see rates of climb off the clock (i.e. more than 6000′ per minute) and a level off from a climb can need to be started up to 6000′ before the target altitude to avoid a level bust!

Eurowings uses the prefix ‘EW’

RE: Flight Reports 4U314 & 4U319
i’m presuming that the a/c you are flying is a LGW based example on a W flight – so you cud b taking it to TFS/GCTS for example an bak to LGW – fridays are tenerife days for the majority i think!

I’m positioning LGW-NCL on BA8077 on friday. Perhaps I should do one from an insiders perspective.

I was just wondering if Eurowings also uses the 4U prefix as well.

Yup, good report.
My next report will be coming next month too. Just an infrequent short haul hop between London Gatwick and Bologna (Italy) with the one and only BA – 737s both ways. :9
