Recently completed a return flight to Strasbourg in France over these past few days so i thought I’d give you all some reading 🙂

FR7772

London Stansted STN to Strasbourg Intl SXB.
We arrived at Stansted ontime for checkin which I believe was somewhere in Zone A. Seemed like a fantastic layout at Stansted, was easy to find everything and the desks were set out in such a way that q’s didnt start to “curl” or anything like that. However a security delay on the way to the departure lounge prevented us from making the flight initially however some gentle persuasion guaranteed that the search for all 25 of our bags was called off (lucky there wasnt just half a dozen of us!!).
QUICKLY boarded Boeing 737-800 EI-CRS for the 1 hour 10 minute flight, taxi-ing past various easyJet, Air 2000, Ryanair aircraft and an excellent view of the parked Buzz fleet across the runway. Felt the excellent thrust feeling of the 737 for the first time and was very, very impressed by her. However, poor communication from the flightdeck and shocking service by the 3 cabin crew members ensured the journey went slightly slower than it perhaps should have 🙂
Touched down on time, taxi-ing past a french postal service 737-300, an Air France A321 and 3 Fokker 100’s in the Air France operated by livery. Transfer to the terminal was speedy as was the transfer of our baggage to the belt. Extremely impressed.

Strasbourg Intl SXB to London Stansted STN.
On time this time, checked in at the desk in the small terminal and proceeded straight through departure channels to the seating area at gate 11. Watched various Air France regional jets arrive and depart and caught a glimpse of the national airlines A320 rotation.
Our aircraft, Boeing 737-800 EI-CRB arrived on schedule and the boarding commenced little after 10 minutes after the aircraft pulled up on stand.
After boarding we were given an excellent safety demonstration by the Irish cabin crew and had excellent communication from the two German flight crew. Refreshment trolly served us all as did the gift service. Original flightime was estimated at 1 hour 20 minutes however, we touched down in Stansted a little after 55 minutes after we took off and passed various interesting aircraft such as the Air Contractors C130 and Aeroflot DC-10F. Baggage collection went smoothly and we were quickly cleared through the relevant customs channel and outside of the terminal building.
On the whole, an excellent set of flights with Ryanair. I must admit, having only flown with “full fare” airlines in the past I was slightly sceptical, that the legroom seemed to be of an increased level as was the overall service given by the cabin crew and in-turn the airline. Ryanair will certainly feature in my future itinaries – provided of course they fly to where I want to go!!! :-p
Clear Skies,

Our trip to Hamburg Lubeck on Saturday has been cancelled.
We now can’t do the daytrip because FR have decided to move the return flight dep time from 1930 to 1430!! Good old Ryanair!
There were 4 cabin crew on last night’s FR Malmo to Stansted flight. Most of there flights are full. Monarch have 5 cabin staff on an A320 and that only carries 180Y.
Oh well, no my flying for three weeks now.

supporting the local Airport and new airline!
It will be a Jet2 B733 to BCN – with a couple of mates so a major spotting session prob wont be an option! – £42.00 each way incl taxes – not too bad, Sunday to Weds

Barcelona, eh? Great airport, but I wasn’t a fan of the city itself!
Who are you flying with? I went with BA flying on 734/A319 and the flights were great!

Yes Dan you are right, I forgot that Ryanair use the 800 series. If Ryanair were UK reg they would need 4 FA’s to operate but bearing in mind they (in my opinion) cheat the system and fly under the Irish flag of convenience I can’t confirm how many cabin crew they have on board.

I don’t know if or not I mentioned it before, but flight 7772 was only about half full wheras the saturday morning return flight only seemed to have the odd spare seat. probably not gonna make any difference to you knowing this, just trying to explain a reason as to why there were 4 then 3 cabin crew members 🙂
Just looking on ryanair.com for where I can go to next, just waiting for my wages going into the bank first :-p

I swear I read somewhere that by law there must be 1 flight attendent for 50 people each??? Don’t Ryanair Boeing 737-800’s carry 189 people? I would have thought there should have been 4

3 cabin crew seems to be pretty standard on low cost 737s.

Just 3 members of Cabin Crew outbound? No wonder they were so slow!
Great report LGKR.

Dusseldwarf and I are booked on the Ryanair flights to Strasbourg on 7th June. We’ve flown them so much in the past few months, it has become as regular as doing your washing-up.
I can think of other airlines I would rather fly with though. I’m not a Ryanair fan.
