hey folks,
I want to get into flight simming and have a few questions.I want to fly against others online,Ive heard there are online “squadrons” and what not.Can anyone recomend online groups or clubs like this?Ive heard Janes makes the best sims for realism, but are they the best from a combat strategy standpoint? What about Battle of Britain,Ive heard that realistically simulates that battle down to every last plane,is that a good one?And on the technical standpoint, what kind of online conection specs do I need?Howabout computer specs and graphics cards?Any recomendations on joysticks or any other interface periferals? Also,if anyone knows some good cheap/free multiplayer online combat games to recomend,Id like to know about that too.
thanks for any help

IL2 forgotten battles is very good
I’m still playing around with Combat flight sim 3, but prefer CFS2 mainly because there are shedloads more freebee downloads of some very impressive planes for that game. see Red section Scramble thread and join in mate
IL2 is good
Crimson Skies is a bit naff
Depends if you want to tootle around admiring scenery or balls to wall dogfighting.
and if you want a real laugh…. I have MS flight sim 3 (i think) on a single floppy disc !!!! and yes it works but my pc is somewhat way too powerfull really, but hey ?
B17 is good in the respect that you can operate any of the positions from pilot to any of the gunner stations even the bambadier, but be warnd it doesnt have a warp facility so if you want to do a raid over deepst darkest wherever, its gonna take a while to get there
Mig Alley, got it but dont recomend it that much.
Hey whatever you get it should be good nowadays, just get afew beers in and enjoy….especially this Friday night !!!

Its a greatly improved version of Il-2. Techinally its not an expansion, its an entirely new game. But theyve kept most everything that was good with Il-2 and perfected it.

You have to get Il-2 Fogotten Battles. It is the perfect WW2 flight sim. When Lock-On modern air combat comes out, that will be an awsome jet sim.
