Flying is great fun.

On a 12 hour flight, the takeoff and landing is brilliant. It’s just the 11 hours and 55 minutes between that are a bit boring!

I’m delighted to announce that after my 15 month spell without a flight came to an end with three flights in two days on the Barcelona trip, I’ve got another four booked for next month.

looking forward to this immensely. Apart from the Cup Final (still waiting to hear from Hampden about [debenture] Allocations 🙁 ), and the Henrik Testimonial at Celtic Park, it’ll be my first flight on a Dash 8 (in fact, my first non-Saab Prop flight), my first BACX flights, and the first time I’ve spent more than 19 minutes in the Air [the BSL-ZRH leg en route to BCN] in an ERJ. And my first Swiss 320 flight (although I’ve flown a Swiss 319 and a Swissair 320 previously). brilliant.

You’re right that flying becomes addictive. I’ve flown 11 flights this year so far and can’t wait for my next one (5th June Biarritz – CDG – MAN). I would love to become a pilot but at the moment I’m tied up with studying languages. Maybe in the future, one can always dream!

Me me me! Within the next 14 days I have 8 flights 😀 Out of these, I go through 4 airports I’ve never flown from/to before, and get to go on my first memorable 747 flight (I was quite young to remember much about my last one). And! I get to fly on my first turbo-prop airliner…..the Fokker 50 😀

LOL I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets excited about these things. By the way wannabe, the Fokker 50 is a great aircraft. I’ve flown on 2 with KLM and they were both excellent flights (except for the turbulence on the 1st flight but not the fault of the aircraft!) and I’m flying on another with Iberia Regional (Air Nostrum) on 2nd July. Hooray!
