It was a beautiful day (for a change) a couple of days ago so I took the camera to work again. Rather than take the same old pics of the flightdeck I thought I would just take some of some fair weather Cu’s (& some not so fair weather).
Good views here of the South West & the River Severn, we can see the Welsh Coastline with Newport showing, also Bristol on the far coastline. You can also make out the 2 Severn Bridges.

This next one is a picture of Herefordshire, you can just make out Shobdon airfield, a lovely quaint airfield in the depths of the Herefordshire countryside. I sent a student solo there yesterday whilst instructing, it’s nice to see this airfield from a different angle.

& the last one about to descend into IMC

Thanks for looking .

Thanks for the comments chaps.
Primate, yes Q400 Flybe
cockerhoop, the FL160 level by AMRAL is a restriction to keep you under the transatlantic traffic using the L9 airway which basically runs in UK airspace from Dover to London then travels Westbound and exits UK airspace at Strumble Head in West Wales.

i enjoyed similar views on Tue morning in our BAE super king on my way into Filton.
can i ask a question, why is there a drop in altitude to pass through the south Wales airspace, seems you have to do it at 16k feet rather than 19k
this was the same when i did a Flybe MAN to EXE a year or 2 back

Dash 8-Q400 and Flybe I believe. Not sure he is allowed to deny or confirm however.
Awesome shots Deano!
The views must make all the hassle worth while.
