Hey!
In the early hours of light night me and Bristol_Rob were looking at flightradar 24 and spotted the following two flights… wondering if anyone knew anything about them?!
Jet2 B737 that seemed to go around in circles over 10 times at 5,000
DHL B757 which made a sharp turn and returned back to EMA – original destination was Madrid
Thanks all,
Matt.

It basically shows you a high number of flights and the routes that they’ve taken, it’s pretty much 100% live too so no delay. I watch aircraft fly past my house as it’s shown on the radar. Not all aircraft are visible though but it’s very good!

Personally, I prefer Planefinder. It seems to cover a greater area, especially the Middle East and North Africa. I have a friend who travels frequently on the Egyptair MSR777/778 CAI-LHR-CAI. In fact, on one of her outbound sectors just before Xmas, she phoned me from the a/c and said that ‘We’re just overflying the coast, south of Athens”. I told her, “yes I know, I can see you on Planefinder, and you’re at 34,000ft.”! It sure brings home to you how much things have changed, and at least I could remind her not to forget my duty free!:)

Just out of interest, what is flightradar 24?
Certainly looks interesting from the screenshots you posted.

Ok, as it looks then, the South Coast Airports have been fogged out all week. Maybe the DHL had a technical issue and had to return to EMA as this would be a maintenance base.

This would have been about 3am I think, it actually ended up returning to EMA too!

The Jet2 was probably one of the ChanEx flights trying to get back into Exeter. They have 2 cargo 733s based there. Looks like he’s holding overhead the EX for the weather to clear. What time was this flight? The weather has been foggy in Exeter in the mornings, and on the South Coast for 2 days running now.
