MD11’s aren’t even that old. Less than 15 years old, is a very young airframe.

Old planes do not cause me any concern. I think if I were flying a new aircraft, I’d be scared. At least with something old, it’s been flying ages and ages and is obviously reliable! 🙂

But to answer the question, I’ve never feared flying.

The MD80 has a very good safety record, the much maligned DC10 has a poor record through no fault of it’s own

I was flying from Melbourne to SanFrancisco with Continental and i arrived at the airport to find a very old dirty looking 747 that had been owned by Qantas and Peoples Express in it’s previous life, looking a bit worse for wear

Deano, if that’s the case then I apologise, takes for clearing it up mate, I don’t want to look like a total mad man, I’m just very concerned that the likes of Skylinerworld will stop posting because they feel people are getting at them. I know that when I was twelve I didn’t quite understand the fact that people aren’t being harsh when they have a laugh at your expense.

Jeanske_SN, while I think it is very admirable that you are not English and you can write it near perfectly I think your comment at the bottom of your last post was uncalled for and you should really be encouraging the younger members of this forum to write their opinions, otherwise how will they get better at spelling? Skylinerworld is only 12 as he has told us on numerous occassions so back off a bit.

This is not the first time you have posted useless and unconstructive comments like this and frankly I don’t think that kind of comment belongs here, and if you do, then I think you too are in the wrong place.

Play nice kids!

Coldest experience? Huh? Is it colder at the window or so?

Skylinerworld can’t spell either, don’t worry.

ive been to Australia a few times now but in 2000 we went and we were flying on the Qantas 747-sp’s from Singapore to Cairns with a stop off at Darwin, i was apprehensive to say the least, but it turned out to be the most wonderful flight of the whole trip, what a beautiful aircraft she was, but i must say sat next to the window through the night was the coldest experience ive had on a plane hehe, damn me and my incessant desire to have a window seat 😀

edited cos i can’t spell
