Apart from it being a steaming great pile of poo did anyone notice the aircraft scenes towards the end of Monday’s episode.
It showed a so-called ‘briefing’ by the starboard side of a Lightning followed by the ‘Pilot’ entering the cockpit and the canopy closing. Then, a little later, stock footage of a Tornado taking off and incessantly turning left
Own up, who’s Lightning was it?
It looked fairly live as it wasn’t chocked and the canopy worked. It did appear to be in a hangar of some sort though this may have been mocked up.
Brunters?
Cheers,
John

I’d given up watching a long time before that!
Same here, I never even made it to part two, I think I got to about 30 mins into part 1 then I watched Indiana Jones instead 😀

Me too, I was hoping for a good quality docu-drama instead I was fed absolute drivel and human interest stories.
PAH!

The other half has this on PVR, rather than sit through the mush, could anyone give me a time frame (how far into the second part) to this comedy sequence.

Hello,
As parts of this seemed to have been filmed in South Africa (the “ZS” registered helicopter landing at Wick in the first part was a give away), I can only presume the aircaft at the end were also South African.
Sequence went like this:
breifing at side of Lightning
Pilot straps into 2 seat Hunter (filmed from the side so it looked a single seater !)
Take off roll, shot of a Buccaneer front wheel.
Take off – Tornado F3
In flight Tornado F3. no use whatsoever against a ground target, especially armed with AIM 9 practise rounds!)
Abort – HUD shot of a low level run over the London Barrier (they should have used the Dambusters theme!)
Somebody should have told the film makers about LGBs, or Storm Shadow!
Funny, even the wife was laughing at the last bit!
cheers
