Florida's Warbird damage

ANN reports that the worst hit museum airfield was Kissimee where the Warbird museum hanger was badly damaged. Warbird Adventures lost both their T 6 aircraft. Kirmit Weeks museum escaped with just loss of power supply so his crew went over to help clear up at Kissimee. Bad news – I sooo nearly took the opportunity to have a T-6 flight when we visited Tom Reilly’s place. Guess I’ll have to put off that return trip. Good luck on getting things back in the air.
Any news on Stallion 51? Did they get away with no damage?

Reckon the need to buy up some of our redundant HAS’s to store their aircraft in for any future windy days!!

Dave

There is a full report on WIX about what happened at the Weeks Museum. The Sunderland escaped damage…just.

Does anyone know whether the Sunderland sustained any damage at all? I hope not.

Paul is referring to the fact that this particular B-17 was severely damaged by a hurricane whilst in the Bradley Air Museum in 1979, but survived unscathed on this occasion.
No B-17 was damaged on this occasion

It was actually damaged by a tornado in 1979…story has it that it was hit by an upside down HU-16..a rare C-124 was also lost.
