I hope I am not breaking the rules, but I have had no success in getting an answer on “another” forum, so:
I am not sure if this is the place to ask, but I am trying to find out what happened to Flt Lt J B Stephens, a Lincoln pilot with 7 Sqd at Upwood in 1955. I have tried 7 Sqd Association and various other possible leads, but cannot find him. The photo below, that was sent to me by Tony Ainsby, shows him stuck in Singapore: he is just visible, leaning against the propellor in the background. Nice picture of the Lincoln, anyway! Note the deadly ladder to the cockpit. I fell off one of those one day!
Can anyone help? Thanks

Thanks Ross. That was quick! I shall PM you.
Why I am interested in “Stevie” is that he was a regular instructor while I was a cadet at 115 Sqd ATC in Peterborough in the 1950s. I manged to get a few hours in Lincolns thanks mainly to him. I wrote a bit about him at:

As you see there, the Canberra replaced the Lincoln for keen air cadets.
How is yours coming along?

Hi,
The 1975 RAF Retired List has the following entry.
Stephens J B Born 14/01/** Commissioned 27/06/51. Flt Lt 27/12/54. Retd GD 14/01/69.
PM me if you want the year he was born..no point in publishing this info on an open forum.
Some of the Family History people should be able to advise how to search the Births/Marriage/Deaths at Liverpool to gain more current info.
Regards
Ross
