It’s with great sadness that I learnt of the passing of Flt/Lt Sydney Dowse MC today. Sydney was one of the last remaining great escapers and a man I had the privilege of spending a few hours in the company of back in 1999 when he attended the ceremony and memorial unveiling to Bernard Scheidnauer and the 50.
