Flug Werk site updated

Sorry if this is old news, but I haven’t checked their site for a couple of weeks. Looks like they’ve had a revamp, and have added a couple of bits of FW190 news:

They’re building two D9/N’s, the first one is for a German customer and will fly with an original Jumo 213.

Of the batch of A8/N’s, 990001 has had the exhaust installed and is being prepped for first engine runs in late September.

More info at http://www.flugwerk.com/

No word on Jim Pearce’s FW189 though, which is quite surprising. The FW189 Society website says work on the fins, rudders and tailplane is in progress at FlugWerk, but this is dated 2001 and seems not to have been updated for a while. Does anyone have any recent news on how that’s progressing?

I’d forgotten about G-DORA,thanks Yak. However,IIRC, this machine is still in Germany and will probably be restored there.

Other than G-DORA you mean?

Not sure what the status is of this little beast, but it arrived on the register in May.

There are no Dora’s in the UK as far as I know, but there is an original A model which was recovered from Russia some years ago and was registered to Warbirds of Great Britain for a while as G-FOKW. The reggie has been cancelled and the fighter will go to Flying Heritage in Washington State when it’s finished.
I believe the centre-section of the 189 was at Airframe Assemblies on the Isle of Wight a few months back, and may well still be there.

i think a fw190 Dora is being restored in the Uk, i dont think it is a new build like the other flugwerk ones. Hopefully the CAA with allow it to fly!
