Fly from space to your street

Has anyone tried the Google Earth satellite mapping system? It’s great and it’s free. You need a reasonably well specified computer though and anything older than Win 2000 won’t play.

Have a go, hours of fun… http://earth.google.com/

I think it’s great, have spent ages touring the world.

Any idea if they are slowly upgrading all of it to the high quality satellite images, and the bits with 3d terrain?

I think there’s some info about that on the website FAQ’s ?

It is fun, came across it last week.

Got me thinking, how long before we have the same thing only live images? 😀
I’d love to see some shots taken by a US Mil satellite, wonder if it can read a car’s tax disc?
