Fly Globespan in it for the long haul

Fly Globespan have today confirmed their intentions to set up a long haul sevice, with the announcement of services from Glasgow to Florida staring in summer 2006.

What this means in terms of fleet is anyone’s guess? We know they wish to buy the 787 but we’ve also heard rumours of 777’s, 767’s and even a DC-10 being used until the 787 is available.

but GSM dont what the A350, they want the 787

Edited by Moderator because I’m sure Sandy meant to be nice really. 🙂

Read Ren’s post before mine.

I was just citing another example of a manufacturer offering another aircraft type until their new one is ready.

777 until the 787 is ready

and my example: A330 until the A350 is ready

Maybe it is tied into the (any) B787 deal? If I remember rightly it is also there intention to own it outright.

It is alleged that Boeing will provide 777(s) to Globespan whilst they await the arrival of the 787.

A 777 is an expensive piece of machinery, especially for a start up Long haul service.

I think a 767 is a far more likely.

Let’s keep this thread on topic chaps 😀

What equipment will GSM be using on long-haul next year, [i]if[/b] they start long-hul operations? B767?

According to the article I posted, B777 is what they are ‘hoping’ for.

Looks like the DC10 wasa load of PPrune bull. 😉 But they are getting a couple of B736s to operate GLA-STN/LGW, there is no contest though is there? It has to be LGW, EZY have been very successful on LGW-EDI, and why try and compete with FR and EZY to STN when there is no need to?

Exciting times ahead for Flyglobespan and Scottish aviation. Let’s just hope they don’t get too ambitious, but I am confident that Mr Dalrymple knows what he is doing. 😉

Matthew, Grey – Nip this in the bud before it starts please!

Don’t worry mate, we’re watching!

This Forum is not a GLA vs EDI playground, chaps.

Take it elsewhere or keep it to yourselves – just don’t dump it here.

Be warned!
