Well, the weather Gods smiled on Yeovilton yesterday for the Fly Navy Heritage Trust Charity Flying Day. And what a day! Where else could you see a line-up of TWO Seafire F.17s, TWO Sea Fury FB.11s, TWO Sea Hawk FGA.6s and a Corsair? Mouth-watering!
On behalf of RNHF a very big thankyou must go to all who supported this event, be they the members of the public who bought tickets, those who helped to organise the day, the “catering corps”, the volunteer “strappers in” and, of course, the pilots who very generously gave of their time and aeroplanes to give pleasure flights. Especially big thanks must go to the crew of the superb Broussard who were by far the most popular mode of transport for the day – thanks Martin and Nigel for the quick trip round the circuit! 🙂
Herewith a selection from the day.

If we’re discussing lexicography, then the words “Sick” & “Parrot” are entering my vocabulary right this minute.
Oh and “Green” and “Envy”.
Cool shots – and what did I get on my birthday? – A watch. Not that I’m complaining considering it’s source, but a trip in one of those birds would have been just as welcome.

This do ya?

Surely there must be photos of the two Seafires side by side?

Very very nice pics!
Especially the Corsair shots 😉 😀

Very nice images Lee. I think the first one is my favourite followed by the 7th.

Did they fold the wings of 336 too?
Unfortunately not this time.

Great shots Lee, the Extra Dark Sea Grey on SX336 looks the correct shade for once – do you have any more of the two Seafires together. Did they fold the wings of 336 too?

I could hardly say that, now could I?! Pot, black, kettle comes to mind! 😀
In a recent shot of me in the back of a Auster 9, I look like the Hood in Thunderbirds. Least in this new photo there is something better looking in the background to take your eyes off the sun glaring off my bonce!
Thanks again for your help on Saturday, I really enjoyed myself, but am now suffering from a bout of ‘Broussard Knee’ from jumping in and out all day long. (Not that I’m really complaining of course….. :)).

Perhaps Egghead is a little too cruel.

A good egg!
Have milk crate, will travel… :p
Perhaps Egghead is a bit closer to the real me – I blame my parents!
I saw this rather dubious character climbing in and out of the Broussard all day long!!

Oh no!!! 😮 😮 Do you honestly mean to say the FAA Museum pulled their Sea Fury, Seafire and Sea Hawk outside in the sun and I missed it??? Why couldn’t they do this on Air Day
