No, Tim. Just the Lanc.

I’m told that a RR-powered A330 flew over slightly later, but the weather over the centre of Manchester was, frankly, dire by then.

No Spit….sadly. ๐Ÿ™

Rolls Royce used to have a Griffon (?) powered Spitfire in a hanger at EMA. Do they still own it?

If they do, that would be taking part in the flypast I am sure.

I had a grandstand view from my 9th-floor office window in Salford Quays – the Lanc came right over the building, about 50′ above us.

Lovely sight and sound. ๐Ÿ˜€

As opposed to Packard Merlins, you mean?

Flood.

Or even RB211’s ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Now that sounds like a photoshop challenge for someone…

I guess they must have been, I donโ€™t believe that there were other engine choices available when they were built, unless this has since been upgraded to a Lancaster NG?

Well managed to see the Lancaster, flew around 1500ft over the city just as the sun broke through, hung around till 13:00 but didnt see the Airbus, but accrding to the news here it did turn up and not to sure if it was a Airbus unit or an airline owned.

I presume that’s the NOTAM that has been posted on the other forum, so the times will be GMT (or should I say UTC these days), so it will be 1230-1305 BST.
Forecast is not too bad, just depends if a shower/thunderstorm is lurking at the time.

Well I hoped it would be RR powered, not much point of a GE one would they.

I know that ๐Ÿ˜€ just thought it could be a A346

Not to sure on type just that this morning on the local radio it mention that a fly past would be taking to the skyโ€™s over Manchester and not to be alarmed as this is to do with the anniversary of Roll Royce.

Could it be a aircraft with RR engines? Say the A340-600??
