Looks like that airplane would make a good project? Shouldn’t be too hard to trace an owner?

It must be fairly difficult to find the owner, as the local council have tried and failed, and they’re pretty good with things like that, especially where a fine is involved.
If anyone is interested in the Piper I would give the parish council a call soonest, and at least register an interest, be a nice project for someone.

A quick check of G-Info reveals the a Mr Kemp of Bristol is the last registered owner with full details of his address given.

Given the typical level of incompetance endemic in local Govt., I wouldn’t be surprised if the numpties hadn’t got that far yet.

Sorry, I thought he meant land owner, yes not tracing the last registered aircraft owner is a bit lazy, but I’m guessing he might have moved it on as a non flyer and it wasn’t deregistered?
Also can we fully trust the newspaper story?!

I wonder what the right channels would be to approach them about the a/c and whom to contact regarding this.

All they need to do is slap a ‘police aware’ sticker on that lot and it’ll be sorted out quicker than that!!

Unless the land hasn’t changed hands for donkeys years, presumably title to it is registered at HM Land Registry. But maybe the district council is so impoverished that it cannot afford to do a land registry search! However I suspect that the Pacer and the (?) Cherokee fuselage have not been dumped but are being stored there – find the owner/lessee of the land and, I suspect, you’ll find the owner of the airframes. So in all probability it’s a non news story. But then, when did something like that stop the Mail from running it!

Well you can’t blame the ‘Travellers’ for the aircraft one , any amount of Aluminium would have been weighed in sharpish 😀

There is still a huge amount of unregistered land in this country, and so the owners can be untraceable.

The other airframe might be a Beagle Terrier or Airedale, any other ideas?

Looks like a low wing Piper to me, something like a PA-28?
If you’re referring to the high wing aircraft that is the PA-20 Piper Pacer.

Not a PA-28 – no door opening on the front Stbd side. Done enough hours in quite a few variants of the PA-28 to recognise most bits :diablo::diablo: This looks like something with a swing-up front canopy.

No doubt they’ll both be on feebay as cockpit or ‘simulator projects’ in the next month or so
