I found this ad in an e-mail I received this morning, and it made me wonder just how many Beech 18s of all versions do fly in Europe?
http://www.avbuyer.com/Dealers/Detailed.asp?Id=6367&AId=28712&NlId=1556
These I do know of:
ARCo D18S at Duxford.
Former Anthony Hutton HFT D18S now at (Exeter?).
Former A. Hodgson D18S now in (Ireland?).
OPMAS D18S in Denmark.
Salis E18S at La Ferte Alais.
The above H18 in Switzerland.
But I suspect there are more.

There is one Beech 18 in Iceland that is maintained in airworthy condition and occasionally flown. It is 52-10672 / TF – JFA that is based at Akureyri on the north coast of Iceland.
On the link below, you can see it in flight 21. of June 2008. It is the latest photo I can find of it in flight – but I can not be sure if it has flown since.

What about Jeff Hawkes old machine down at North Weald? There were recent plans to get it airworthy again I believe, though it would take a fair bit of work as it’s been looking decidedly well past its sell by date since it was in store at Rochester, and that’s before it was ferried to Weald 😮
I bet that aircraft could tell a few tales though;)

What about N663TB that turned up at Audley End last month for a function?
A tri-cycle version.

We see N21FS around Switzerland quite a bit. I presume it is the former Opmas Danish one

The Dutch Beech flies very frequently.

I had forgotten all about the Dutch one. Does it fly much? Another one which I had left out of the list is the one belonging to the FiO group in Madrid. This was a former photo mapping aircraft. Now in Spantax colors.

The one listed in the oldprops website as being displayed in Malaga has just to confuse matters the same colors and reg as the FiO aircraft.
I have followed the updates for the Bruntingthorpe Beech closely. I still remember photos of Graham Warner’s Beech when it was blue, and I really liked it. Never saw it in those colors so I look forward to see “Naval Encounter” when airworthy.

The Oldprops website has a total of 5 airworthy in Europe, with another two under restoration.

There are over 50 in total.

The OPMAS Beech is apparently now with a Swiss owner, and in Switzerland you’ll also find N45CF and I think at least one other (in addition to the tri-gear one you already listed). Then there’s D-IROM in Germany (in Straubing, I think) and I seem to recall having seen one advertised for sale in Austria recently (possibly not airworthy).
