FlyBE. expands services from Bristol International Airport

FlyBE. today continued its recent ambitious expansion of summer routes with the launch of two new routes from Bristol International Airport. Travellers in the West Country can now fly direct to Bergerac in the South West of France and Jersey in the Channel Islands, with flights departing on a daily basis from just £39 (Bergerac) and £29 (Jersey).

The new routes have already proved to be a great success with strong sales reported across both destinations. The Bergerac route is proving particularly popular with 83% of the seats booked already for the first month of travel.

A new service between Bristol and Bordeaux will begin on the 24th June and this will bring the two twinned cities closer together by encouraging travellers from both regions to visit their counterparts. These new routes form part of an overall strategy from flyBE. to open up the heart of France to the West Country, and the expansion follows on from the success of the already established route to Toulouse.

Mike Rutter, Marketing Director, flyBE., commented: ‘The new routes from Bristol demonstrate our commitment to offering a first rate, convenient regional airline service and to continuing to challenge the myth that travelling to mainland Europe means first travelling via London.

“The early booking figures for both routes have been extremely positive and I’m confident that travellers in the West Country will take advantage of them over the coming summer months.”

Tony Hallwood, Aviation Development Director at Bristol International Airport, said:
“I’m delighted that FlyBE. has decided to expand its offer at Bristol International. Bergerac will be an attractive destination for leisure travellers and second homeowners in the Dordogne, and I’m very confident that it will prove to be a popular route.

“I’m also very happy to see the launch of a FlyBE. route to Jersey, increasing the choice of flights available to the Channel Islands. I look forward to working closely with FlyBE. to ensure its continued success at Bristol International Airport.”

FlyBe could prove tough competion for Air South West who have also just started a BRS-JER service. Does anyone know how good their load factors are?
