I personally think A319/737 order would be bad for flybe, it just puts them in competition with FR/EZ which is already a saturated market.
Embraer 190s would probably be better as they can retain their niche market of serving smaller regional airports with catchment areas too small to attract EZ and FR.

I agree that the Airbus/Boeing route is not smart, but the EMB move would, from what I understand, serve them better. That way the family can provide diversity into smaller aircraft and not aircraft that as DashQ says puts them with the massive loco carriers.

I agree with your suggestion but given Airbus and Boeing being at their throats atm im sure they will be offering discount to flybe from both camps to make their aircraft cheaper probably than an Emb190!
