FlyBE. is to start services from Southampton to Salzburg and Prague on October 23rd with Chambery starting on December 16th. The new Prague route is subject to Government approval.
FlyBE. moves on Bristol
FlyBE., the UK’s fastest growing airline, today announces its intention to make Bristol a major centre for its low cost operations. It will launch daily flights to Toulouse from Bristol from 23 October. FlyBE. also plans to commence flights from March 2004 to Bordeaux, Bergerac and Murcia (subject to slot availability). Flights to Toulouse go on sale today at http://www.flybe.com. Flights to the other key destinations will be available for sale from October.
“We believe that there is substantial demand from the Bristol area for flights to France, Spain and other key European destinations, which FlyBE. is keen to develop,” stated Sales and Marketing Director Mike Rutter. “We also believe that our low fare services – featuring 31 inch seat pitch (versus the competition’s 29 inches); pre-assigned seating, Deli in the Sky catering, underpinned by the lowest available fares to France and Spain – is much more in tune with the needs of the people of Bristol.”
“Fly FlyBE. and you will see we are more reminiscent of Go, than the other no frills model at Bristol,” he added.
“Our strategy is to complement both existing and future planned services at Bristol International Airport and our intention is to add new routes, rather than compete on existing services. We do, however, expect to compete with easyJet on certain routes, just as we do, successfully on Bristol to Belfast, where we continue to grow market share, despite the competition.”
FlyBE’s one way fares from Bristol (to Belfast City and the Isle of Man) start from £19. Bristol-Toulouse goes on sale at £29.
FlyBE. will be introducing its all new, quiet and environmentally friendly Bombardier Q400 aircraft at Bristol from the autumn. The aircraft will debut on Toulouse in time for the start of the ski season. Toulouse is the gateway to the Pyrenees and such resorts as Arinsal, Pas De La Casa and Soldeau.
FlyBE. launches Birmingham- Salzburg
FlyBE., the UK’s third largest low fares airline, is launching new services
from Birmingham International Airport to Salzburg. The new services begin on
26 October 2003 and flights will operate daily to the Austrian city.
Salzburg is the gateway to the popular ski resorts of the Austrian Alps
including Gastein, Salzburger Sallachtal, Zell am Zee, Kitzbuhel, Saalbach,
Söll and Seefeld. As well as being a ski route the city of Salzburg is one
of the world’s most important cultural sites and a perfect short-break
destination.
“FlyBE. is keen to provide a comprehensive winter timetable for the people
of Birmingham. Winter sports are becoming increasingly popular and Salzburg
is the perfect gateway to some of Europe’s most spectacular resorts,” said
John Brayford, FlyBE.’s General Manager Market Development. “This new
service will reaffirm FlyBE.’s commitment to the Midlands and highlight the
fact that the airline is now Birmingham’s number one carrier,” continued
Brayford.
More than 90,000 passengers chose to fly with FlyBE. to or from Birmingham
in June 2003, an increase of 30% when compared to June 2002. The airline is
already well on target to carry more than one million passengers through the
heart of England airport this year.
