Yesterday I heard confirmation of something I heard a couple of weeks ago which was verified by a report in the Sunday Times financial section yesterday with direct quotes from Lufthansa and Karstadt Quell.

TCuk is up for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems that Germany is in such dire straits that they need a rapid cash injection. The only item of true value they really have is TCuk as we have been turning in significant profits in the last few years. This evening I unofficially heard that I can expect to start an A340 course in early June so I have to say the timing couldn’t have worked out better. I don’t think there can be any better flying in existence to beat charter work around the Med but after three and a half years I have worked for 4 MD’s, 2 colour schemes, 2 names, 2 call signs, numerous SOP changes, 1 served and rescinded redundancy notice, 2 threatened redundancies, 1 threatened forced base move and phenomenal roster instability. I will look back through rose tinted spectacles and claim I miss it but it is time to re-embrace the tedium of longhaul for the stability and terms and conditions it offers.

Why would it be a bad idea to buy Flybe?? Ok, I dont know muc about airline management but I thought Flybe are currently the fastest growing UK airline, its just like when BA sold GO, that was a bad choice. Didnt they make nearly a 300 million loss? And yet, if they had kept GO for another two years they would have made huge profit (obviously other things needed to be changed!)
But I thought Flybe were doing well at the moment. Am i wrong?

Nice Kev!

Speaking of rumors, and perhaps Steve can help out with this one: when is this whole NZ/QF deal going to come full circle? Is it going to happen or is it not? I hope it doesn’t.

Cant reveal names but this guy has regular contact with Management of flybe.

LGKR, Albert Harrison is MD of EGAA and is good friends with my dad and he is good friends with the Md of Bombarider who used to own BHD.

Kev, The Aerospace firm that was mentioned already owns one part of one airline as a private backer and the airline mentioned doesnt make sense. There are more than 4 bids for flybe.

OK Andrew, fair enough, but can you tell me which pickled onion factory is involved? 😉

So, Andrew, are you going to reveal your ‘close sources’? Your close source is spreading two rumours, neither of which are substantiated or that you will substantiate. You then choose to spread them yourself. Simple little games like the one you are playing now can really cause trouble for people. Who are the contenders from the aerospcae business? Boeing? Airbus? Bae? Embraer? Bombardier? And which airline? BA? Lufthansa? Ryanair? United? Phuket?

Do us a favour and don’t post rubbish like that till you can substantiate it.

BTW, have you heard the rumour about the supermarket chain, the international airline and the pickled onion factory? Of course, I can’t name my sources…..

I’d be surprised if they did!.
