Nothing has been announced under the news section on Flybe.com or on the relevant airport website’s. I presume these new routes are part of the winter programme which goes on sale on 27th July in addition to the other routes announced today:
Norwich – Amsterdam
Leeds Bradford – Aberdeen
Exeter – Aberdeen (via Leeds Bradford)
Exeter – Amsterdam
Exeter – Salzburg

I think they ll struggle to fill a Dash 8 to BHD, cant see this route being viable but time will tell.
As with all routes, yield is what matters not necessarily loads. Also, Flybe seem to have released their winter schedules for all BHD routes apart from BRS – could it be this one will get the axe as now only one rotation per day?

Just checked out the flybe website. Two new routes out of Galway, Galway to BHD from October 2006 and Galway to BHX from March 2007 altough theres nothing on the Galway airport website.
Interesting to see if Flybe will make it work out of Galway as apart from Aer Arann, no other airline thats tried Galway routes have made them work (Euromanx and Loganair tried and failed)
The BHX route may work, however Aer Arann used to fly Galway to BHX and dropped it. I think they ll struggle to fill a Dash 8 to BHD, cant see this route being viable but time will tell.
Good to see more routes out of Galway anyway, its a great little city! 😉

Yes it dose.
But did’nt they say that when they commenced operations from Manchester, Leeds/Bradford and not forgetting Newcastle. End of the day these are just point to point routes by aircraft which are based else where.
I think it’s safe to say the same is happening at DSA as well. If you look at the times of the DSA flights they are operated by a BHD based aircraft. Also note that times are’nt very good if you want to do a days business in Belfast you only get 4 hours.
So i guess you’ll need to say over-night or get a return to eaither LBA or MAN.

The article says that Doncaster Sheffield will be a base for Flybe.
Interseting Time’s ahead!
FlyBe are quite renowned for detailing every airport with a route from it to being a “base”. LBA, MAN, LPL, NCL – All Flybe bases!

I would expect them to come back next week when more winter flights are announced, were probably just put there as a mistake yesterday.

FlyBe are really expanding for the winter, excellent news for Doncaster, lets hope more is to come from all airports!
By: PlymouthCity - 22nd June 2006 at 17:32
Well this is quite suprising!
Never thought BE would serve GWY!!!
By: allmcc - 22nd June 2006 at 17:21
Good to see Flybe expansion from BHD after a relatively lean period for new routes from there – I thought RE would have operated the GWY – too late for them now.

Norwich – Amsterdam is a suicidal move. Pondering over it since its announcement moths ago, seems even more stupid everytime I think about it, KLM do 5 rotations per day, with prices at £35 + full service so flybe gotta do something special!
