"Flyboys" article

There is a most interesting article concerning the upcoming movie here:
http://www.landings.com/_landings/pacflyer/feb2-2006/Fn-60-flyboys-the-mo.html
Interesting in as much as there are a few photos showing something of what we can all expect from the combat scenes on this web page, as well as a reasonably in depth review based on an early screening. Therefore, there are spoilers! Take note of this before visiting.

Thanks for that aj. I couldn’t imagine OW leaving an aircraft, even if it was a replica, outside all through the Winter.

Does anyone know what the replica from “Flyboys” is doing parked out at Old Warden over by the trees. It’s been there for at least 6 months and must be suffering from the rain and wind.

It’s a shame every movie has to have the love part but it’s neccessary to get money from it – it’ll be worth it for the flying scenes though hopefully, the three hours plus of King Kong was worth it just for the flying bits at the end!

I went to the screening, and thought that it was very good. And my girlfriend liked the romantic part, so I guess that’s good…..

Gets the bums on seats.

Good read, though. Never heard of the Clint Eastwood film about the Lafayette Escadrille before!!

If you look on the Aerodrome forum there has been some stuff about it on there.

Half the film devoted to the love interest – sounds ominous!

Unfortunately film makes have to make a comercial film that will appeal to the masses! Be thankfull they have made an Aviation related film at all! Have to wait and see how it turns out 😉
