Interesting choice of route bearing in mind Virgin can’t make enough profit from it to do it all year round. Any unplanned tech stops could make it a very unprofitable operation to try.
Not many operators survive on the Cape Town route but hopefully the smaller B767 is the answer

Seems like good news. Hope they add a leg to Glasgow e.g GLA-MAN-CPT-MAN-CPT.

Ye the DUB flight stopped in LPA and somtimes PMI. Right now our CPT service is direct using a LTU A330.
KLM operated some chaters from DUB to CPT a few years ago using a 767 so I dont thnk range is a problem

It sounds like the route that AV8 was due to operate 2 years ago. That route then involved a couple of tech stops.
One of the 2 weekly services went something like MAN-DUB-LPA-CPT; I believe locoflights were tempting customers on the MAN-DUB, MAN-CPT and DUB-CPT secors. The other service I think was non-stop.

Somehow, I doubt it. 😀

Oh, it’s just that Air Scandic were intending to operate flights to South Africa from MAN. I was wondering whether FlyGlobespan had stepped into the breach, so to speak.
Some of us here were half-hoping to see Finnair MD-11s on the route. Hey, you’ve got to optimistic, haven’t you? :D:D:D
Don’t think there is any connection AFAIK just now, so maybe you’ll still get your Finnair MD11s. 😉

You’re gonna have to explain some more.

will a 767 make it all the way to cape town without a fuel stop?
It’s getting towards the upper limit of the B763’s range, but it can still make it.
