Flyglobespan will be returning the 2 757’s they have leased from Icelandair with immediate effect, several transatlantic services in the meantime will be operated by Zoom, incl. Liverpool to JFK and Edinburgh to Toronto Hamilton.
I’m sure Globey WILL make it to the end of this their last season :diablo: :dev2: 🙁 😡 :p ( i believe Wikipedia are busily clearing space on their “defunct airlines” section:p )

GSM are to cut their frequency on the Liverpool-NY run from seven to four flights a week, according to the local evening paper. All bar one of the remaining flights will be via Knock, it is suggested.

Zoom
The Zoom schedule is already pretty full. Their winter ops is also manic, with some UK services being reduced due to their charter work in Canada.
Unless they are getting another 757, possibly from Harmony?

This airline has NO IDEA what they are doing, a total disaster.
ALL flights are now back to being operated by FlyGlobespan aircraft. 😮

Surely a case of expansion too soon?
Should maybe stick to serving bucket & spade flights from UK to Europe, plus city breaks with their 737 fleet.
Then once they are established flying those, then look to expand further afield.
At the moment, they are tarnishing their reputation with all the problems.
I hope they don’t go out of business, they are serving ABZ in a way that other UK airlines seem reluctant, in the main, to. And they have also been in the main reliable on their ABZ routes.
One thing’s for sure, if GSM do go under, I cannot see other UK airlines rushing to serve my local – traffic can increase by 20% on international routes (as it just has done) but it wouldn’t make any difference.

The rest of the BHX summer season show’s all their flights being operated by Zoom 😀 , not like I mind seeing their smart blue aircraft as they no longer grace BHX on a scheduled basis :(.
At least Globespan have sorted this situation, it could of been so easy to simply cancel alot of flights I’m guessing? very interesting news at any rate.

The 757’s have been an absolute disaster, in fact one a/c done 2 emergency landings at Hamilton in a space of a few days. They have contributed to nearly all of the delays since they arrived. The John Lennon tail one is staying but the other 2 are offski, no idea where Zoom are getting the a/c from either, i suspect it may be their 757 that will be doing the resuscitation job??
GSM have also “sacked” Aviance handling at GLA in a very public way (deflection?? Shurely not) to go with a handling company called “Alba handling” (who??) The 2 Neos 767’s are performing fine, and will be returned at the end of the season with one of the old rattlers leased to Air India coming back to cover the MAN-CPT and GLA-SFB winter services (oh joy!)

I have already read that Zoom will be operating numerous flights for GSM now, but where on earth are the Zoom aircraft coming from?
This has been a nighmare so far for FlyGlobespan, does anyone know why they are returning the 757’s?
