On a trip to Sweden, I found time for another visit to an airmuseum. The museum is very well laid out with a lot of varied exhibits in good order. Less so the few aircraft kept outside. The museum also has an exhibit of the recovered remains of a DC3 shot down by the Soviets.
1. Star of the show the Viggen
2. Lots to see from all ages
3. The Breguet C.U 1 with air cooled engine via side radiators
4. Gloster Gladiator framing a FFVS J22
5. Gloster Gladiator with ski boots
6. Outside, Vickers Varsity, DC3, and Canberra

Don’t try to be funny!
Stockholm Skavsta airport is not in Stockholm, it’s in Nikoping, or is that Nyköping?
Steven
It’s Nyköping.

Excellent photos of the DC-3.
Displays like that are good for our younger gereration to see that the “cold war” was not always “cold”.
I also find it nice to see Spitfire’s & Catalina’s in other markings besides the standard ones.
Very Nice & Thanks

The DC-3 exhibition is in a large separate room underground. There are models of the aircraft and a lot of information on what happened. The aircraft remains are behind glass screens, which makes photography a bit difficult. There are also exhibits on the Cold War and news films from the time. Some of the original documents from Sweden and the Soviet Union are on display. This is of interest to both Cold War historians and to aviation enthusiasts.

8. Engine and wing
9. Fuselage
10. Cannon shell holes and shrapnel damage
11. Document showing the attack of the MIG15
12. Other aircraft – Spitfire above the Catalina
13. Vampire next to the Tunnan
14. Why does the Caravelle have such large wing fences?

Steven, thank you very much for your report on a apparently very interesting museum. However your first picture is of a Saab Viggen and not a Draken.
