Season opener for 2017 flying events at Shuttleworth tomorrow Sunday 7th. Kicks of the year
Happy safe 2017 everyone
Have fun all that are going, MET does not look to bad wind about 10mph from the North overcast sky.
I look forward to any reports on the days events here.

That’s all the BBMF can do unfortunately with out the PDA I’m sure Parky would have liked to have put on a full display for those that were there but he couldn’t!

I hope the BBMF Spit did not fly all the way to Bedfordshire just to perform those four, distant, barely banked passes. Maybe they were just having a whizz round to dry the black primer!
Perhaps the Flight Standing orders are pretty rigid about what is permitted, but the later performance of JR in the MK1 Spit was a welcome reminder of how a fighter aircraft is more usually flown.

Thanks for posting.
Nice to see the Hurricane back on its “feet” again.
I had the good fortune to visit Old Warden last summer (from Canada).
It is truly a unique and almost magical place. Marvelous site and collection.
A friend of mine has a DH60 and a Hornet Moth, he has also flown many other DH types.
He said “oh, I’d give it all up for a Leopard Moth”.
‘CMA certainly looks immaculate.

Been to many an airshow, but my first visit to Old Warden and I really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere and what great flying.
Really good to see other types flown than I normally see on the circuit at other airshows, and a crowd with a good mix of anorak types and Sunday day trippers…never seen so many picnic tables laid out.
All in all a very enjoyable day :eagerness:

That could well have been the Nanchang that departed Popham a little earlier in the day? A couple of lovely rolls over the airfield on departure…

Re the Mew Gull over Henley-on-Thames that would have been Cap-10 G-BXFE and Nanchang G-BVVG who were flying pretty close together.

The Leopard Moth was re flown towards the end of last year after an extensive restoration I believe on behalf of her current owner Peter Vacher. This was possibly her first ‘public appearance’ since then. Possibly not flown prior to that since the 1980s ?

How gorgeous is that Leopard?
I know ‘CMA has been around a while, but has she had a recent makeover / re-cover?
Stunning image Duxman!

Spotted over Henley on Thames 5:30pm today was what looked like a Mew Gull and very thin green aircraft, in tight formation ?
