When I lived in Portsmouth it was quite common to see aircraft props that had been dragged out of the oggin sat on the quays awaiting transport to the local scrapyard..

Hi Peter,
It got mentioned, but buried in this thread: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=96264
There has been some discussion about what type of propeller it is. It looks very much like a de Havilland and therefore the wrong type to come from a P&W engined Sunderland V – casting doubt on the wreck being PP118.

Old Prop
It certainly looks like an ex-Sunderland unit.
de-H bracket type with needle blades. The reduction gearing looks to be Bristol Pegasus/Mercury but I would put my money on Pegasus as this prop is too big for the Mercury.
So, de-H bracket type prop with Peggie reduction gear (and the small spinner) is very likely to be Sunderland Mk.1 from that location.
