The latest issue of British Archaeology has a piece on surveying seabed flying boat wrecks off Scotland that might be of interest to some.

It was a fairly wide ranging survey under the supervision of Wessex Arch.
Most of the flying boats remains found were off Oban – losses on take/off/landing and at mooring.
The most interesting find in terms of rarity was L7523 – Saro Lerwick.

Could one of these be the sole Blackburn B20 prototype? Although, as I believe that at least one of its RR Vulture engines has already been recovered, it’s location may already have been known. Just a thought….
