flying in Canada

Hi, Lucky old me is leaving these overtaxed shores to start a new life in Toronto Canada in Jan. I have been taking my NPPL here in the UK but want to continue with it when I travel over the water. Has anyone, or is anyone, been taking lessons in Canda and what kind of comparable costs to here in the UK?
Any recommendations etc would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Colin

Biggles,

Here are the websites for the three largest flight training schools in the Toronto area.

http://www.torontoairways.com/

http://www.bramfly.ca/

http://www.flyislandair.net/

Remember to factor in distance (flying time = $) to practice area when adding up costs.

Hi,

This all depends on whether you are taking English savings and converting it into Canadian dollars. I guess it may work out quite favourably that way given the tax and economic differences.

Just browsing one PPL school that deals with International students in CA, I see the dual rate is about $140 per hour dual in a 152. At two CA$ to the £, that’s £70 per hour. You’re looking at £100-120 typically here in the UK.
