Flying Legends 2004 – Photos

My first ever Legends – agree with danohagans comments in another thread. Thought the Spitfire tail chasing was awesome, especially the Grigffon trio, but some of the other displays were abit high and distant – would rather have watched tail chasing all afternoon, it was fabulous! Anyway, afew pics before I nip off to bed….

Thanks for the comments folks. For the first pass, there were 2x B-25 at the rear aswell. They were in waves aswell btw. Another Balbo pic….

From all of the pictures I have seen of this year’s balbo, it looks like it was a tighter cluster of aircraft than in past years. In one of the pictures I count a “cloud” of 22 warbirds, as opposed to waves of planes.

Was it really put together differently this year, or is it just my imagination, and the effect of telephoto lenses?

How I would have loved to hear the thunder when that cloud passed over!! With the Tigercat that’s 23 engines purring as one.

These are excellent photos, I particularly like the angle of the first one, that would adorn any wall of mine, thanks for sharing them. 🙂
